JOViaL - Trust the Algo : A GGJ 2024 game

Are you tired of all these social networks that just make you feel bad about yourself and angry at the whole world? Wouldn't you like to create a place where everyone can be happy? If so, JOViaL is the game for you!

In JOViaL - Trust the Algo, you play as the recommandation algorithm of the eponym social network. You are just getting your first users, and you need to satisfy them fast. Choose between dozens of qualitative internet content the ones that you think your users would like the most! Study their like and their dislikes as they react to the content you give them. But be careful: you need to manage all of them at the same time, and they are hungry for fresh content.

Tutorial:

• The whole game is played using the mouse
• Select the user you want to take care of on the bottom left window. The little dot indicates how happy they are on your platform. Blue: they are having the time of their life. Red: only a second away from living the platform and never coming back.
• When a user is selected, a gauge appears on the left of their profile. Fill it entirely to make them a regular user. They're not addicted, just very happy and commited!
• Select the next content they will see on the bottom of the screen. You can choose between two posts, but you can use the reload button on the left at any time to see new posts.
• The user then spends some time looking at the post, then reacts and their happiness goes up or down. Use their previous reactions and their bio to understand them and win them over!
• If things are going too fast, use the freeze button to slow things down.
